Urgent Sick & Injured Visits

Full-Body Digital & Dental Radiography

Pinery Veterinary Center uses full-body digital radiography to diagnose and monitor a wide range of internal conditions, including:

  • Orthopedic issues: Diagnosing fractures, arthritis, hip dysplasia, and joint dislocations.
  • Foreign bodies: Locating ingested objects in the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Cardiopulmonary health: Checking for an enlarged heart, fluid accumulation, or tumors in the chest and lungs.
  • Urinary problems: Identifying bladder or kidney stones.
  • Dental health: Examining the internal anatomy of teeth and the jawbones.
  • Cancer screening: Detecting tumors in bones and organs.

In-House Laboratory - Blood, Urine, and Fecal

Pinery Veterinary Center features a state-of-the-art facility and equipment that includes an in-house veterinary lab to perform crucial diagnostic tests, offering rapid results that can guide immediate treatment. Key categories of our in-house lab equipment include blood and urine analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and sterilization tools.

In-House Ultrasound Imaging

Pinery Veterinary Center offers in-house ultrasound services, which provides immediate, non-invasive diagnostic imaging for pets. This allows our veterinarians to quickly and accurately assess a pet's internal health, and in some cases avoids the need for an external referral. For pet owners, this can mean a faster diagnosis and a more convenient experience.

Benefits for pets and pet owners

  • Immediate results: In-house ultrasound provides real-time images, so your veterinarian can discuss findings with you immediately, rather than waiting for results from an outside facility.
  • Enhanced patient care: This service allows for closer monitoring of your pets condition and a more tailored and timely treatment plan.
  • Reduced stress: Keeping diagnostics in-house is often less stressful for pets, who might experience anxiety when traveling or being in a new environment.

Endoscopic Procedures

 What It Is

  • An endoscope uses a thin, flexible tube with a camera on the end.
  • It allows veterinarians to visually examine internal organs like the esophagus and stomach without making large surgical incisions.

How It Works

  • The endoscope is inserted into a natural opening in the pet's body, such as the mouth or anus.
  • The camera transmits high-quality images to a video monitor, providing a real-time view of the internal structures.
  • Vets can use the scope to take biopsies (tissue samples) for further analysis by a pathologist.
  • Tools can also be passed through the endoscope to remove foreign objects, dilate strictures, or perform other minor procedures.

 Common Uses

  • Gastrointestinal Issues: Diagnosing and treating chronic vomiting, inflammation, or blockages in the esophagus, stomach, and intestines.
  • Foreign Object Retrieval: Sometimes we are able to remove swallowed objects without the need for surgery.
